Condor Trek Kids - Storyland Yoga Book Review

Discolsure: I received the product below to help facilitate my review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own and 100% honest.

Condor Trek Kids is an interactive book that gets your children moving. Using a story about lost condor eggs, the children in the book have to return the condor eggs to their mother at the top of the mountain. As they go throughout the story the encounter challenges along the way. Every page has a challenge that gets your little ones to act out different kids yoga poses.

There are many benefits to kid's yoga for both the mind and the body. Yoga can help a child improve concentration and focus, increase mobility, circulation, oxygen intake and help with digestion.

This book is written by Bryan Duggan and based off of the first story in the kids yoga DVD Storyland Yoga. Condor Trek Kids was illustrated by Ann Bonniwell. The pages are colorful and bright, with a crayon colored look.

I opened the book and explained how it works to Squirrel. On the first page the kids find Condor eggs. I showed him the yoga pose. He then got down and pretended to be an egg. What really surprised me was that his little brother then started trying to do the same thing as he was.

I really got a kick out of watching the boys go through this book. Squirrel enjoyed doing all the actions while Bug enjoyed copying his big brother.

Here is a preview of what you will find in Condor Trek Kids...

...and my children eagerly rolling on the ground like bear.

Here they are in another section of the book acting like trees.

As you can see, both of the boys having a great time with this book. Squirrel has been asking to read it every day! This book will be a great way to get the blood flowing, especially as winter approaches!

I like that the book gets them moving. It's kind of like making the story 3-dimensional. Not only do they get to read it and look at it, but also move with it, becoming the characters in the book.

This is a book that I would definitely recommend to friends and family.  It would also make a great Christmas gift!

They also have the Storyland Yoga DVD which I would love to check out!

Connect with Playful Planet, the creators of Storyland Yoga, on Facebook and twitter.

Buy the book: You can purchase the Condor Trek Kids book on Amazon, list price is $11.95, but it is currently on sale for $10.76!

Do you practice yoga with your children? Do they have a favorite pose?

  1. That is a cute idea. That type of involvement helps kids to enjoy a story more. Honestly even I would enjoy something more if I were actually a part of it rather than just listening.
