Priva Mattress Protector {Review}

Priva offers a white vinyl mattress protector that completely covers the top of your mattress for all over protection from spills, leaks and messes of all kinds.

With baby #3's due date creeping up on us. I thought it would be a good idea to get a mattress cover in the event my water should break while in bed, I really wouldn't want to have to replace my mattress. The Priva mattress protector seems like it will be a great option for us. It will also be great for those times our little ones want to climb into bed with us. I won't have to be worried about them leaking through their diapers and having a nasty mess to clean up on the mattress. It would also be great on a child's bed.

The Priva mattress cover is available in sizes twin, double, queen and king. It is antimicrobial and is machine washable. The mattress cover does not have deep pockets, so if you have a pillow top mattress like I do, it won't fit quite as well.

The vinyl waterproof top has a textured surface allowing for a more comfortable feel under your sheets. I am rather surprised at how comfortable it is for a vinyl cover. The main thing I noticed was that it is a bit cooler when you crawl into the sheets.

The side of the mattress protector appears to be cotton (fabric not listed). It has encased elastic all along the bottom edge, providing a snug fit on your mattress. 

Despite the fact that we have a pillow top mattress and this mattress cover doesn't quite cover the sides completely, it seems to hold in place pretty well with little daily adjustment. 

The company informed me that the cover should be washed (per manufacturing directions) before use to allow for absorption of liquids. While there is room for some absorption, I don't feel like it will absorb a whole lot. There also wasn't any washing information other than the statement on the front packaging saying it is machine washable. 

Overall I am fairly pleased with this mattress protector and I think it will work wonderfully for us. I am just bummed it isn't deep enough to fully fit our mattress.
