  1. Lately, we've been planning our spring gardens. We have one for ourselves and our neighbors, and then we help out in a community garden, where the food is shared with a low-income area of town. This Saturday we're getting it prepped - putting up the fences (to keep the deer out) and turning the soil over. Soon we'll get to plant, once the ground warms up more!

  4. I try to recycle everything I can. I try to wash all my clothes in cold water. I do not buy water in plastic bottles. I use a pitcher with a filter and reusable bottles.

  6. I am trying to stop using plastic straws, and am ordering reusable produce bags. When we walk our dog along the beach we always pick up any trash we see.

  15. We try to have reusable bags with us when we grocery shop. We also use other reusable products such as cloth napkins, rags, and diapers.

  22. We try to reduce where we can, minimalize, conserve. We use reusable alternatives to as many things we can - Bottles, napkins, etc.

  27. I finally got a clothes line hung up at our new house and have been using it. I dry everything on the line and only put it in the dryer for 5 - 10 minutes afterwards to soften everything up (and get rid of dog hair - ha!). Before a load of laundry would take at least an hour or more to dry, this has significantly lowered the amount of power we use and the laundry smells awesome!

  31. We have been adding to our compost for several years, and this was the first year we had material ready to add to our garden. So instead of buying dirt to top off our garden beds, we used our compost! :)
